RELAY FOR LIFE
Greetings,Post 43 Sons and Auxiliary are co-hosting a team on behalf of military families at the upcoming American Cancer Society's Beach Cities Relay For Life. This is a community gathering commemorating cancer survivors and those who have passed. It involves a special Opening Ceremony, bands and entertainment all day long, food options onsite or picnicking, and a powerful Luminaria Ceremony to close (optional to attend as long as interested). Note that this is not a run but rather a great opportunity for the Legion family to spend some time together off campus for a great cause and perhaps some recruitment opportunities.Register here:http://main.acsevents.org/goto/SupportVetsAs we know, a higher percentage of vets and military families are impacted by cancer than the overall population. My dad is a colon cancer survivor; and one of our newest Sons' fathers recently passed away from cancer. No doubt, most Post members have someone in their lives that has been impacted. I was recruited to our American Legion at another Relay For Life event, there is definitely a long tradition of our members participating to support this cause. Many thanks,
