2nd Vice - Events & Happenings

Busy week for the Post, Military and Veteran Communities!

Naval Fleet Week kicks off on Wednesday, May 24th, and we are lucky enough to be hosting about 100 Sailors and Marines that night.  The Marines Corp band will be setup and playing on the front deck as the public passes by to goto The Cure concert at the Bowl.  If you can make it, the bar will be open (no parking available at the Post).  I'm sure the Sailors and Marines would love your company and impart some sage knowledge on these young ones.  Maybe show a few of them around Hollywood Boulevard.

Thursday the bar will be open again for our Members and Guests.  Same rules apply as Wednesday.  There won't be any parking available, but you're still welcome to come and enjoy!

Friday night, Nick is kicking it up Americana style for Band Night!  You WILL be able to park at the Post this night!!

Saturday, head over to the Los Angeles National Cemetery at 10am to participate in the Flag Placement ceremony and honor those that have gone before us.

Sunday Funday as usual.

Then on Monday, Memorial Day, there will be another Ceremony out at the Los Angeles National Cemetery, again at 10am.  Then come by the Post starting at 12pm and participate in our Memorial ceremony and Celebration.  Bar opens at noon, Ceremony is at 1pm.  We will have a Classic Rock live band starting at 2pm and a Flag Retirement ceremony in the parking lot.  That evening, Fleet Week will wrap up on the Battleship Iowa in San Pedro with a Ceremony starting at 6pm.

There are many more ways in the community to Memorialize this weekend.  See your local listing and do something closer in your area, if you can't attend any of the events listed above.  The main thing is to take time and reflect on what was and who got us there, and remember them . . . always!
