BUSINESS MEETING + SPECIAL ELECTIONS

On Monday, November 20th, our Business Meeting will include new member Inductions and Special Elections for two open positions on the Executive Committee and one on the Board of Trustees.

EC vacancies include one term ending in June 2024 and one ending in June 2025. The Board of Trustees vacancy shall end in June 2026. Elections will be open at 5 PM. Meeting will commence at 7 PM. Dinner will include a Thanksgiving menu and has been very generously donated by Former Adjutant and Member, Terry Duddy. Please thank him when you see him!

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

George Cantero is an Army Veteran who served several terms on the Board of Trustees, completing all of his terms. He blocked the sale of the El Centro property multiple times throughout the years. He trades stocks for a living, and he acts. He’s a member of the Riders as well as the Sons. He’s not rigid, he’s open to compromise, and he’ll do what he believes is best for the body as a whole.

Anaquad Cobe

My name is Anaquad Cobe, and I am running for one of the open seats on the Executive Committee.

Most of you know me from the pool room. I have been a member of Post 43 for 14 years now, but I want you to know a little more about me.

I have been a Private Investigator here in California since 1984, and before that, I was an Investigator in Alaska and the rest of the nation for the Department of interior. I have been an Investigator for 45 years now. My company’s name is TEN-28 INVESTIGATIONS.

Also, for the past 40 years I have been a Process Server. My Company’s name is PAC RIM ATTORNEY SERVICE.

I have been running my own business since I was nineteen years old. I have sat on Executive Committees and Boards of other organizations over the past 47 years since my discharge from the United States Air Force in 1974.

I am a Vietnam Vet. I was stationed in the War theater on two different tours in Southeast Asia.

I was a member of the 319th Bomb Wing, supporting Bombers and tankers.

I am a father of three, I have been clean and sober for the past 48 years and five months.

My office is on Wilshire in West Los Angeles, and some of you know I used to shoot Professional Billiards.

I am looking forward to serving my fellow constituents of Post 43. I would appreciate your Vote.

Ladies and gentlemen of Post 43 Legion Hollywood,

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I announce my candidacy for the Board of Trustees position at Post 43 Legion Hollywood. I am honored to be considered for this role and am excited about the opportunity to serve our community and uphold the values and traditions of the American Legion.

I am a dedicated and passionate individual, committed to the well-being of our veterans and the betterment of our community. My background in accounting and management has equipped me with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to the board. I understand the challenges faced by veterans and their families, and I am determined to work tirelessly to ensure that our Post remains a supportive and empowering space for all.

If elected, my priorities will include:

1. Advocacy and Support: I will advocate for the rights and well-being of our veterans, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to lead fulfilling lives after their service.

2. Community Engagement: I will work to strengthen our ties with the local community, fostering relationships with organizations and individuals who share our commitment to supporting veterans. By collaborating with others, we can amplify our impact and make a meaningful difference.

3. Transparency and Accountability: I believe in the importance of open communication and transparency within our organization. I will work diligently to ensure that all members are informed about the decisions and initiatives undertaken by the board, promoting a culture of accountability and trust.

4. Financial Stewardship: I recognize the importance of financial stability for the long-term sustainability of our Post. I will work closely with fellow board members to manage our resources prudently, exploring innovative fundraising opportunities to support our initiatives and secure the future of Post 43 Legion Hollywood.

I am committed to working collaboratively with my fellow board members, post members, and the wider community to make Post 43 Legion Hollywood a beacon of support, camaraderie, and patriotism. Together, we can build a strong and vibrant community that honors our veterans, celebrates their contributions, and ensures that their legacy lives on.
