Auxiliary news

Congratulations to our Auxiliary members and Legion Family members for successful attendance at the 2023 Convention in Visalia where we won an award for membership and were seated Number 2 for our ranking in Department membership. Front row, baby! We participated in many committee meetings, general sessions, and networking events. Also, our Unit is ranked #1 in our District. Let's keep the momentum going for the upcoming year!

We had a busy June! After convention, dual member Lorna Dyne and I had the opportunity to chaperone a bus to Girls State in Sacramento. Girls State is an educational program that provides young women with the opportunity to learn about government and leadership while fostering personal growth and civic engagement. I am so proud of our Unit for our hard work at fundraising efforts that enabled us to sponsor 6 girls this year. The cost is going up next year so we will really have to hustle in order to cover costs. So, you know where this leads, don't you? QUARTERMANIA!!!!

The date for our Quartermania fundraiser is October 14 at 11:00 AM. We will begin selling tickets to the Legion Family soon so please put this on your calendar and make plans to attend. We will also be grateful if anyone has items to donate for our raffle prizes. This event is vital to us staying afloat and provides us the means to fund our programs such as Girls State, Americanism, Give-10 Backpack Program, Holiday Party, and our Department/National obligations to name just a few. Plus, it's fun!

Yours,
