Yes, this is cold to me. it's actually "freezing", up in here in Merced, CA. Down home in LA, they call 60, "freezing". The Michigan man in me laughs, but the Michigan man in me also thinks that I am equally ridiculous in thinking that anything above zero, is "cold".
Perspective in all things is key. Perspective can help us to avoid overthinking, giving things too much importance, overreacting, and generally giving sincere empathy for others thoughts, but more importantly, others situations.
I see what's going on in Ohio. I saw what was happening at Michigan State. The news has no shortage of suffering that we can be outaged about and ten years later, we will still feel that outrage.
Are you really THAT upset that the dishes didn't get done when you wanted them to get done? Did that person who was slow to respond to the green light really raise your blood pressure like that? Are you losing relationships because of your American Legion Post budgeting process or internal politics? Sure, that stuff can be important, but will you even remember in ten years that you were arguing about that?

POINT OF PERSPECTIVE
...should be allowed, once per heated meeting, where someone stands up and recognizes the work being done, but points out that the urgency and importance isn't so great that we have to turn on each other in anger, condescension, and in some cases, a permanently altered relationship between those with the bond of oath in service to country, while in uniform, and now, as we pledge continued service to "community, state, and nation".
