Chaplain's Corner

Hello Post Family!

I hope and pray you all are doing well.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
— Numbers 6:24-26

Take this verse to heart today and reflect on it.

May God bless you, in the good, the bad, the mundane, the chaotic, and everything in between. May He turn toward you and remind you that He has given you grace in anything you are holding on to, reminding you that you are forgiven. May He give you peace that surpasses all understanding, no matter what you are going through. Today, and through anything, may you have shalom- which means peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare, safety, and tranquility.

I pray this over each of you and over our post family. May you fully feel the presence of God in all parts of your lives and in our post, giving you great joy, peace, and blessings in all things

Post Everlasting

Tom Urich, a long time leader, mentor, and friend of many, passed away very recently. Tom was born on March 26, 1935 and was 87 years old at the time of his passing. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War Era. He became a member of the American Legion in January 1996. He served as the Post 43 Commander from 2006-2008. He also served on the Executive Committee for many years. He was the Department of California Chaplain for one year. He served as District 24 Commander as well. He was a member of our Sons squadron as a dual member. Additionally, he was an actor and member of the Screen Actors Guild. His wife Judith is a founding member of our Auxiliary unit and has served the post family and unit throughout the years in many ways. Please keep Judith, his sons Justin and Christian, his entire family, and all grieving the loss of this incredible man in your prayers. Tom certainly made a huge impact that will continue to be felt throughout the American Legion, post 43, and the community well past the time we had him here with us. Thank you Tom. May you rest well in Post Everlasting.

Tom's memorial service will be held on August 12, 2022.

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for our members who may have silent or anonymous prayer requests.

Prayer is powerful and God hears!

As always, if you need prayer, please know there are several ways to reach your chaplain. There is a prayer request form you can fill out here: https://form.jotform.com/ChaplainAL43/prayerrequest

You can input as little or as much information as you are comfortable with.

You can also reach out directly to chaplain@post43.org if you'd rather do that.

There are also chaplains for the sons, auxiliary, and riders that are available as well.

If you want to pray but are not sure how to pray, please reach out too. We are happy to guide you to pray alone also!

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
— Romans 12:21
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
— Romans 15:13

May peace and comfort surround you. May you and your families be well physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. May God make His presence and love felt in your life, now and always. Shalom, and many blessings to you all!

Blessings,
Your Chaplain, Donna Callaway and Assistant Chaplain, Rocio Palmero
