Chaplain's Corner

Post 43 Chaplain Donna Callaway

This is quite a week with it being the Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day.

Happy 247th birthday to all my fellow Marines (and a very loud YUTTT!) and happy Veterans Day to all!

For all who served- your service matters. It matters always, regardless of how long it has been or how long you served. It is important and notable, regardless of how much or little you did, or where you went while you served. You are part of a small percentage of the population that joined the military and served your country in that way. That is very special! You served, and you made a positive difference- directly and indirectly. Veterans Day is for YOU. So on this day, we celebrate you. We honor you. You are deserving of that honor and celebration.I pray that you see and understand the value you have brought to the world through your life and service. I pray that you are full of joy, camaraderie, and appreciation this Veterans Day. I pray that anything you may be feeling that is difficult surrounding this day, God shows to you through a different lens this year so that you can have peace and joy.Celebrate this week with your comrades and friends. Celebrate your service and theirs. Our camaraderie continues beyond our time in the uniform, and is still present in our veteran and legion family, communities, and nation. You are a part of what makes our community so special, so remember that. You have done something remarkable by serving, but you continue to make a positive impact every day. If nobody told you recently, you are appreciated and valued, and your impact goes further than you realize. Your service was significant, but you make a difference and matter NOW too.I pray that you truly feel the appreciation so many have for you and your service to our nation. I pray that your service reminds you that you can accomplish more than you think. I pray that you are reminded that you continue to bring value and a positive impact to the world around you, especially in your communities. Your service, and more importantly, you, are worth celebrating, on Veterans Day and always.I hope and pray you find so many reasons to celebrate and have joy this week, family.

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for our members who may have silent or anonymous prayer requests, as well as those who may be mourning or suffering at this time. We have lost several members of our post recently- please continue to keep their families and loved ones in your prayers, and reach out to check on them if you can.

Prayer is powerful and God hears!

As always, if you need prayer or support, please know there are several ways to reach your chaplain. There is a prayer request form you can fill out here: https://form.jotform.com/ChaplainAL43/prayerrequest

You can input as little or as much information as you are comfortable with.

You can also reach out directly to chaplain@post43.org if you'd rather do that.

There are also chaplains for the sons, auxiliary, and riders that are available as well.

If you want to pray but are not sure how to pray, please reach out too. We are happy to guide you to pray alone also!

It's ok to not be ok. You are not alone.

The Suicide and Crisis Hotline is also available 24/7: dial or text 988

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
— Romans 12:21
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
— Romans 15:13

May peace and comfort surround you. May you and your families be well physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. May God make His presence and love felt in your life, now and always. Shalom, and many blessings to you all!

Blessings,

Your Chaplain, Donna Callaway and Assistant Chaplain, Rocio Palmero
