EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPROVES LEGION RIDERS CHAPTER

The Executive Committee of the post approved a motion to start a chapter of the American Legion Riders at Hollywood Post 43 on Aug. 8, 2017.  Members of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Auxiliary who own a motorcycle and are legally qualified to ride can join the ALR.  This is the first Legion Riders chapter in the history of the California American Legion's 24th District, the area of greater Los Angeles within which Post 43 resides.

American Legion Riders chapters are well known for their charitable work, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children's hospitals, schools, veterans homes, severely wounded servicemembers and scholarships. Since 2006, Riders nationwide have participated in The American Legion Legacy Run to annually raise money for the Legacy Scholarship Fund, established to provide scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel killed since Sept. 11, 2001.

For more information on the ALR, visit legion.org/riders

To sign up for the new Legion Riders Chapter at Post 43 or more information, contact Ronnie D. Womble at rwomble52909@gmail.com or (904) 487-5423.

This is a touching coming-of-age story set in Yonkers, New York. Over the course of the play, the young boys learn lessons about love, responsibility and the importance of family that will carry them into adulthood.
