Director Milan Morgan's Riders Report

Hello Post 43 Legion Family!

The Chapter 43 Riders were busy this Memorial Day Weekend!  We started out strong by helping clean up the Post grounds on Friday to get things looking good for Memorial Day.  We showed up at the USS Iowa with Chapter 61 in support of Fleet Week with our very own Rider BJ Lange acting as MC for the event!

We attended and participated at the Memorial Day ceremonies at the National Cemetery as well as at the Post.  Chapter 43 Riders Past President and incoming Post 43 Commander Dennis Kee and Rider Michael Gregory laid wreaths at the Cemetery, and Riders Director Milan Morgan and Riders Kee & Gregory also participated in the Post Memorial ceremonies. We swapped out the flag with the impressive garrison flag, remembered our fallen comrades and spread their ashes in the Memorial Garden and then conducted a very moving Flag Retirement ceremony.  Many Post 43 family members dedicated flags to their departed friends and family members and watched with teary eyes as the flags were retired with honor.

We are excited to join the Post and Auxiliary Officers for a Legion Family induction Ceremony on this Mon, June 5th.  Hope to see you there!

We will continue to stay active and promote the American Legion!  If you ride and want to join our ranks, please email us at riders@post43.org.  Our next meeting will be off-site at one of our Riders house on June 17th at 10am.  Email us for the address if you would like to attend!

At your service,

Milan "Trigger" Morgan
