More than 120 veterans and first responders wounded or suffering from PTSD completed a 500-mile bicycle ride as part of Project Hero's Ride 2 Recovery Oct. 21, 2017. Our new Legion Riders chapter provided escort for the last leg of the ride and Post 43 sponsored lunch for the hungry heroes.

FRIDAY: THIRD ANNUAL WEST LA VETERANS STAND DOWN 6am-5pm
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - WEAR YOUR LEGION CAP!
The Stand Down is an all day event providing supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings and VA Social Security benefits counseling. Veterans can also receive referrals to other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling. They are collaborative events, coordinated between local VA Medical Centers, government agencies, community-based homeless service providers, and other community partners. Village for Vets and Brentwood School are partnering to coordinate volunteers for this event. They will sign up approximately 300 volunteers to make the day a success.

NFL FOOTBALL SUNDAYS AT THE POST - ALL THE GAMES!
The Art Deco Bar will be open Sundays for NFL football and we do have "the package," so you can enjoy ALL THE GAMES! Come have a drink and some nosh and cheer on your favorite team with your comrades! Bar opens at 9:30 for the 10am game.
NOV 5: SUNSET & FULL MOON HIKE IN GRIFFITH PARK WITH TEAM RWB!
Join Team RWB Los Angeles and hike up to Griffith Observatory for the sunset and come down under the (almost) full moon. Bring a flashlight, and Laura will bring the glow sticks! DETAILS
