TONIGHT - SPECIAL 9/11 REMEMBRANCE DINNER & PROGRAM
Join us Monday, Sept. 11 for a Legion Family Dinner and special 9/11 remembrance program featuring guest speaker, former Force Recon Marine and OEF/OIF veteran, Rudy Reyes. Plus a special "Missing Man Table" ceremony to mark the fallen of 9/11 and those who continue to fight and. die in America's Long War.
ABOUT RUDY REYES: On Sept 11 2001, while based in the Pacific, Rudy was called for his first combat reconnaissance mission; running Counter Sniper and Counter Recon Patrols in non-permissive Jacobabad, Pakistan. This was in preparation for USA's Special Ops insertion to Afghanistan. Once the Afghan War officially started, his team ran operations that located and destroyed Al Qaeda in the Kandahar Valley. Rudy later participated in the invasion of Iraq alongside fellow Recon brothers from the illustrious 1st Recon Battalion. This mission would later be documented in the book Generation Kill, which became the HBO miniseries - Generation Kill.
A special invitation goes out to all our veterans who have served since 9/11/01.

THURSDAY: SUMMER NIGHTS COOKOUT AND COCKTAILS IN THE COURTYARD!
Hey everybody, come on out Thursday, Sept. 14 for an end-of-summer cookout and cocktails under the stars and shimmering lights of Highland Avenue.
Due to a private event in the Art Deco Bar, we're doing it al fresco. Grillin' and Cavortin' on the front porch until around 9:30 when the event is over and we can retire to the bar, where we won't wake the neighbors at Belmont Village... Bring something to throw on the grill or potluck sides if you feel compelled. Very informal. Just good ole good times. Fun starts around 6:30pm. See you then!
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALLLLLLLL SUNDAYS AT POST 43?
The Art Deco Bar will be open Sundays for NFL football and we do have "the package," so you can enjoy ALL THE GAMES! Come have a drink and some nosh and cheer on your favorite team with your comrades! Bar opens at 9:30 for the 10am game until the last game ends.

DONATE TO HELP VETERANS AFFECTED BY HURRICANE HARVEY
The American Legion’s National Emergency Fund provides direct financial assistance to Legion Family members and posts impacted by natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey.
A full 100 percent of donations to the National Emergency Fund are turned into grants for individuals, families, and posts impacted by natural disasters. Donations are tax-deductible, and are not used to cover administrative or promotional costs.
Please act now to support veterans and their families impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding in Texas and other gulf coast regions.

Team RWB is an officially sanctioned partner of the American Legion national organization. They have great programs for those veterans and supporters who enjoy physical activity and camaraderie-good for the body and the soul! Many Post 43 members are also Team RWB members. THE ART DECO BAR
The clubhouse bar will be open most Tuesdays/Thursday from 7pm during Hollywood Bowl Season and every Sunday starting at 9:30am for NFL, showing ALL the games on multiple TVs. Members, Legion family + 3 guests welcome.
