RECENT NEWS

Randall Otto Kahn (4/14/1948 - 7/18/2017) R.I.P.

Randall Otto Kahn (4/14/1948 - 7/18/2017) R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we must share the news that our post Judge Advocate, Past Executive Committee Member, and dear friend, Randy Kahn passed on to "Post Everlasting" last week. Randy was a lion of the post who lent his vast experience in a career in business, banking, and even acting to the stewardship of this post and especially the theater renovation project, in which he was an instrumental force. Randy was a kind, thoughtful patriot and good friend to veterans and Legionnaires. His contributions to the Hollywood Post are innumerable. He will be missed not only for his leadership and counsel, but especially for his friendship.  Randy was buried yesterday at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills during a small service with family and close friends.  A celebration of life will be held for Randy at Post 43 on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at noon.

NEW DISTRICT OFFICERS INSTALLED

Members of Post 43 were installed as new officers of the 24th District of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, Department of California on July 23.  Post 43 First Vice Commander Michael Hjelmstad is the new district commander.  District office is the next level in the Legion organization, consisting of multiple posts, and is a vehicle for influencing the Legion agenda at the state level.  Other P43 members holding district office include David Gibson, Jennifer Campbell, Peter Lisowski, and Judy Urich. Good luck to our new district officers in the upcoming year.
