VICTORY MEMORIAL GROVE
REDEDICATION: DAR MEMORIAL
AND VICTORY MEMORIAL GROVE PARK
You are invited to attend a Centennial Celebration commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the USA entering World War I. This event will honor the fallen soldiers remembered by the DAR monument and park at Victory Memorial Grove in 1921.
In addition to the official ceremony, there will be speeches, proclamations, refreshments and music by the Santa Monica Oceanaires singing good old-fashioned barbershop.
After 97 years, it has been an honor for the Los Angeles-Eschscholtzia Chapter, DAR to restore this DAR WWI Monument to its original luster by well-known art restoration firm, Rosa Lowinger and Associates.
Volunteers from the American Legion Post #43 have been working hard with the city parks and recreation to bring this old park back to life. By clearing, cleaning and planting native and drought resistant plants, we hope to keep this park beautiful for the next 100 years.
Join us on Flag Day, June 14 at 11 AM - for an inspiring afternoon as we pledge to rededicate and remember those who helped to keep our Country free. Friends and family are welcome!
DOZENS OF NEW MEMBERS TO JOIN POST 43 IN LARGE INDUCTION CEREMONY JUNE 14TH
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - In another historic moment for Post 43, more than 50 new members will be inducted into the American Legion during a special meeting of the post Wednesday June 14th, Flag Day at 7 p.m. There will be dinner provided starting at 6pm in the Cabaret Room. Afterwards, there will be a cocktail mixer held in the Art Deco Bar to welcome our new comrades and celebrate Post 43

RICHARD HALPERN carries the listener back on his coat-tails to the talent-filled coziness of a 1920s-era Speakeasy and beyond.
