Its members have included Hollywood luminaries like Clark Gable, Charlton Heston, Mickey Rooney, Gene Autry, Ronald Reagan, Stan Lee and more.  Today, Post 43 boasts nearly 1,200 Legion Family members made up of veterans, Sons, and Auxiliary.

The “longest continuously operating speakeasy in Hollywood,” the post clubhouse is a private club for our members to congregate, network and relax.

It’s also a vibrant community civic center and event venue, featuring the famous Art Deco Bar, Cabaret Room banquet hall, and a state-of-the-art film and digital cinema theater.

The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation, and volunteerism.

The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.  Wartime veterans who have served honorably during the eligibility periods as determined by Congress may apply for membership.  If your parent or spouse served during wartime, you may qualify for membership in the Sons of the American Legion or the American Legion Auxiliary.  Members of the Hollywood post have included showbusiness luminaries like Clark Gable, Charlton Heston, Mickey Rooney, and many more.  Today, many Post 43 Legionnaires are still employed in the entertainment industry and all walks of life in Los Angeles
